1枚の写真から
9月の前半は秋雨のぐずついた天気だったが、彼岸頃から秋晴れの天気になり、朝晩の気温も下がり、めっきり涼しくなった。きょうの気温は20度まで達せず、ちょっと前の残暑がうそうよう。涼しくなって一番うれしいのは蚊にさされなくなったこと。蚊に好かれる私は庭にちょっと出ただけで、何箇所も刺され、痒みに耐えていた。今年の夏は今までで一番さされたような気がする。
虫といえば広瀬川では「かげろう」が発生し、橋の上は死骸でいっぱいになっていた。また、いつもの堤防の散歩道では「アメリカシロヒトリ」の毛虫が大発生し、堤防のコンクリートの上をわさわさ這っている。問題なのは、発生源のその付近の桜をはじめとした街路樹、軒並み毛虫にやられ、葉は食い尽くされ、風が吹くと毛虫が上から落下してくる。結構知らないで多くの人がこの路を通っていた。頭上の毛虫に注意。
仕事の関係でお世話になっている「ヘンリーさん」が9月からブログを始め、得意の写真で仙台を紹介している。
先日、「きょうの広瀬川」もPRしていただいたが、早速、ブログを見た方か らメールをいただき、私のHPにある35年前の昔の白黒の写真に色を着けて送ってくれた。実はその写真には自分の出た当時の小学校が写っており、感激して写真をカラーにしてしまったとのことだが、一枚の写真を通してまた輪が広がった。
この写真、偶然にも、9月20日に仙台市の「広瀬川ホームぺージ」にアップされたばかり、「広瀬川の記憶」で使用されており、私の子どもの頃の川の思い出も取材されている。ちなみにこのHPには、私の夏休みの宿題であった「広瀬川研究レポート」が来月掲載予定になっておりますので、見ていただければ幸いです。
